Funcom has announced that there will be an open beta from May 1. The open beta will be hosted by Fileplanet.com, and the sign up will start next week. Totally 50 000 gamers will be allowed to participate in the open beta, so it’s not completely open. Also, you have to be a Fileplanet member to join.

You can get a notification when the signup start by registering your e-mail here. A Fileplanet membership costs $16 for 3 months or $40 for a year, but if you’re allready a member you can get into the beta completely free. There seems to be no restriction on there you are from, so everyone should be able to join.

The beta is there to prepare the game for the launch, and will stress-test the servers. The level-cap will be set to 13.
