Quests in Age of Conan

Quests in Age of Conan tries a few exciting new tricks. We will see two kinds of quests. The first type is the typical quest from World of Warcraft, where you are ordered to kill X of a kind of creature, or gather Y things. These quests will be in a MMORPG-world, where you have to perform the quests together with other people on the server.
The other type is more interesting. By visiting a tavern and “switching” to night, or go to sleep for a few hours, you get your own instance of the world. You will be able to go around without seeing another human player. We have seen instances in a lot of games before, but seldom the same area as both instanced and public territory. The fact that the world can be instantiated allows quest-developers to make more interesting and story-driven quests, like those you see in Neverwinter Nights and other single-player or group role playing games.
