Aquilonians
The kingdom of the aquilonians, Aquilonia, is often called the Flower of the West. With prosperous cities like the capital Tarantia, great wealth, culture and education it is regarded as the jewel of Hyboria. The king Conan has demanded religious freedom, but most of the aquilonians worship Mitra. Aquilonia is the trade capital of Hyboria, and the currency “luna” is used all over the kingdom.
Aquilonia is a large kingdom, and because of cultural clashes and pictish raids there are periods of unrest and civil war. Local heroes from conquered or allied kingdoms oppose the king and establised government of Tarantia. King Conan rules the kingdom, but does not have a standing army. Instead the king controls a small professional army called the Black Dragons which includes mostly knights, spearmen and bowmen. In addition to this the Black Legion is the king’s personal bodyguards.
