Stygians
The stygian lands is a theocracy devoted to the serpentgod Set, and the stygian people are masters of the occult secrets and diabolic love. The kingdom, with the capital Khemi, is legendary for its high level of scholarship and mastery of magical arts. The stygian people is not very concerned with what goes on in the world outside of their borders, but instead focuses on knowledge, which is where the true power lies. The stygian theocracy is divided into three castes, the nobility, the aristocracy and the peasants.
The noble class is tall with dark hair and fair or ivory colored skin. They live in lotusperfumed estates outside the cities, and are seldom seen in the cities or outside the stygian borders. The aristcratic class is the true rulers of the stygian empire, and are employed in the many temples and libraries around the empire. They also have dark hair and a dusky skincolor. They rule over the peasant class with an iron grip. The peasants leave to serve the higher castes, and feed the appetite of Set. A hit of obedience, and they can expect torture and death in the torture chambers of the many temples. All stygians favor cunning, intelligence and agility over brute strength, and the culture and society reflect this with high focus on intellect, education and dicipline.
To play a stygian can be a real joy, especially if you want to roleplay an intelligent and wise character, with their magical and mysterical nature. The stygians is a diverse people even if they are united by the worship, or fear, for the god Set, and a stygian character can choose many paths in their life, from a magical demonologist to a stealthy assassin, but they usually appreciate vile magic and evil religions.
